Richard Paganes, founder of Tubby's, Inc., opened the first Tubby's Sub Shop in 1968 in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. The high quality products, generous portions, and unique grilled-to-perfection flavor of Tubby's Subs quickly made Tubby's a Detroit-area favorite.

Rick's pioneering vision and unwavering commitment quickly propelled Tubby's growth and success.

In 1978, Tubby's began franchising, growing at quite a substantial pace. By 1988 Tubby's had 25 franchises in two counties serving southeast Michigan. Today, almost 40 years later, we have 100 stores with more opening every month, in more than six counties.
